3 Big Trade Show Missteps

Trade shows can be a huge boost for your business, but if you aren’t cautious, many different factors can turn your good experience into a nightmare. Here are three things to avoid when preparing for and attending your next trade show.

1. Shooting too high

If you’re just getting started at trade shows, you should start with the standard 10 x 10 or 10 x 20 booth. From there, you can figure out how to showcase your brand graphics and trade show displays.

2. Partying hard

Socializing during the trade shows off hours can be a great networking opportunity, but you’ve got to be on your best behavior. It’s an all-too-common mistake to have one drink too many and reveal too much to customers or competitors.

3. Avoiding the rest of the show

You may be tempted to stick to your booth, but just as potential customers are walking the show to learn and discover new products, you should also be using the trade show as an opportunity to see the latest innovations in your industry and meet with potential customers.
