What to Expect at CES 2020

From robotic dogs to automatic toilet foot-warmers, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is the place to be for anyone who loves the latest gadgets and gizmos. As the largest tech show in the world, CES manages to keep everyone in awe in a city that’s known for surprises — Las Vegas — and show off the hottest new technology, which gets better and better each year.

Such tech giants as Google, LG, Sony and Samsung make appearances to launch their most innovative products and services. With new products dropping nearly every hour throughout the four-day event, it promises to only get better as the show hits its stride.

Find out what to expect from CES 2020, the largest tech show in the world, and the hotly anticipated gadgets we’re dying to see.

About CES 2020

CES showcases over 4,000 exhibiting companies, including developers, suppliers and manufacturers of consumer technology hardware, content and technology delivery systems. It also offers over 250 conference sessions and over 182,000 attendees from 160 countries.

CES 2020 takes place at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, from Jan. 7-10, 2020.

Newest Trends

CES is always on the cutting edge of technology trends. One of the biggest expected trends for 2020 is Smartglasses, a trend that puts computer displays into glasses and gives users a visual layer of information about the world, customized alerts and interactive experiences. It’s possible that we’ll also see facial recognition technology that identifies people according to social network contacts, caller ID and text messages.

Another anticipated trend is the user-centric computing model. While all devices need to be synced for a seamless experience, 2020 is expected to bring computing information, software and data across devices. CES may be debuting new applications and devices that work with that framework.

Flat-panel TVs are often a spectacle of CES, especially with such big names as Samsung and LG in attendance. At CES 2020, we expect all these screens to be replaced with OLED panels in ultra-thin formats that are virtually transparent. They’ll also connect wirelessly to any nearby content sources, much like pairing a Bluetooth headset. Samsung and Sony will be showing off the integration of these screens with normal household decor, while Panasonic will showcase the 240-inch OLED screen that can cover an entire wall.

As the show draws closer, we may see even more exciting trends emerge and more companies showcasing their hottest products.
